Mother Board Choice
Over the last couple of days I watched a couple of videos that showed people putting together their own PCs or explained how to choose your parts. Here are the links:
I found the first link extremely helpful because it gave me pointers, recommendations, and things to look for while choosing my parts. This kind of brings me to my next point of that I actually picked out the motherboard that I'll buy. This is the Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC Core i7/i5/i3
LGA1151 Intel... *deep breath*... B250 DDR4 SATA PCI Express USB ATX Retail. So that's a mouthful and a lot to understand. From now on I'll refer to this not as the Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC Core i7/i5/i3 LGA1151 Intel B250 DDR4 SATA PCI Express USB ATX Retail, but just the Biostar 😁. The Biostar was $45 on amazon.com.
I used pcpartpicker.com to find the Biostar, and I also looked at three other cheap motherboards before choosing this one. I read all the reviews and specific attributes that this motherboard had compared to the others. 20 out of the 21 reviews I read said that it was a perfect motherboard for basic internet surfing and some even said that it could be used for gaming with the appropriate processor and video cards. The other review said that it caught on fire 😳...

... probably
Another update that I'd like to bring up, is that I'll be meeting with my neighbor that collects, fixes, and sells computers sometime this week. His name is Dave and I'll be looking to get some experienced knowledge on certain parts. Word on the street is that he might even let me take a few of his computer's apart and take the parts. Even if that doesn't happen I'll still be able to get some answers to a few questions that I've had after researching. I'll make sure to have a blog completely dedicated to my meeting with Dave. The Biostar will be ordered soon and hopefully I can line up my CPU, case, and memory next.
